The rooms were spotless with attention to detail. The owners were extremely helpful and available to help. The complimentary continental breakfast was more than adequate. The toiletries provided in the bathroom were of a good standard and the fridge and additional items such as water, crisps, biscuits were excellent additions.
The stairs were fairly steep and quite a few floors if you were in rooms 9 & 10.

1st class place with glorious views of the sea. Stunning location as only 5 minutes to Brighton Dome. Greatly enjoyed pretty quiet area.

Attention to detail was fantastic. All extra's in the room were very good, everything you could need if you had forgotten anything. A special touch was that Marcus and Lee had left us speciality teas in our room after we ordered them for breakfast, good customer service!!!
It was a bit noisy, creaking floorboards.

Kind and friendly staff working there, really helpful. BIg and confortable room, complete room facilities, the hotel is placed in a really good location, it was definitely worth the price, only regret is we couldn't spend more time over there. Will surely get back there when visiting Brighton next time.

Excellent location near the beach, self-catering capabilities, high shower pressure
Cleanliness issues could use attention!!! Inconsistent communication during check-in can lead to confusion!!!

The staff was so cute and their service was flawless. They had very varied breakfast, bread, cereals, juice, teas, coffee, fruits, youghurt ect. The hotelroom was very modern, clean and fresh. Daily cleaning. Free biscuits and tea ^^ Many different tv-channels. "A side-wayed" view of the sea. Fresh and clean bathroom. Comfortable bed. The small refrigeratar was very convenient. We recomend this place to everyone, young, old, or family!
Internet didn't work in our room because we were on the top floor in room nr 10. But we could sit in the relaxing diningroom, where it worked perfectly.

Bed extremely comfortable, room clean
Felt steep hike in price for Friday night was over the top

The room had a partial sea view that provided a refreshing touch, perfect for a relaxed morning. The kitchenette included a fridge, offering convenience for storing snacks or drinks.
The check-in process felt a bit disorganized. There was a delay before I could get to my room, and communication regarding the entrance wasn't clear. My unit lacked a microwave and proper cookware, limiting the kitchenette's utility. Noise from the street and neighboring areas was noticeable at night, which might disrupt a light sleeper's rest.

Location is good, but still a good 5+ minutes walk to the pier. The owners are great - really friendly and helpful, and the breakfasts are huge!
Rooms are very well furnished, but a little on the small side with two people and two bags.

Perfect spot for solo travelers
The owners were warm, made it feel like home with personal touches
It wasn't inexpensive, but considering the value, it was still acceptable.

The hotel is only a short walk from the beach but it is tucked away from the noise that comes with the nightlife which is good. The room had a cosy feel to it and the bed was comfortable.

Greatly enjoyed every detail about my really really nice 4 nights stay here. The staff was very friendly, helped a lot. The room was good sized with a very comfortable bed, leather sofa, for instance, just what was needed. Its location was incredible, next to the beach, the pier and shops, and sea front and also local shops of Kemp town. Actually everything was perfect, my next choice again in Brighton.

great location with cute atmosphere
The hosts were very cute, made a great first impression. The room was spacious with adequate storage and a pleasant partial sea view, made mornings good.
Room amenities lacked cooking utensils even with a kitchenette available.

In a dirty, dirty town the Amherst stood out like an oasis. Spotlessly clean and run by folk who were absolutely delightful, it provided a very pleasant refuge.
It's a long walk from the station, something we noticed as we arrived by rail. It's also a fair way from the Avis depot as we rented a car the next day. These are very minor points.
